Charles Baker, PhD, ABPP is a Business Psychologist who began consulting with executives, teams, and organizations in 1994. Through a collaborative process, he helps individuals and business units gain awareness of their capacity to excel and achieve their desired goals. Dr. Baker’s primary professional interests are in two areas. First, for executive coaching, he works with high potential employees, stalled upward job mobility, career derailment, and executives transitioning from subordinate to supervisory roles. He also works with executive teams to improve decision-making and conflict management skills. Second, for employment testing, he has extensive experience using job related assessments to identify and match an executive’s strengths and areas of improvement with the best organization fit.
Prior to beginning his graduate training in psychology, Dr. Baker worked for a Fortune 500 organization for 10+ years. Dr Charles Baker received a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M, a Master of Science degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of North Texas, and a doctorate in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis on Organizational Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He was the recipient of Texas Instruments’ Work Teams fellowship, a Ridgel Fellow, Robert S. Daniel fellow, and the Donald K. Anderson Teaching Award. Following his graduate training, Dr. Baker taught at Palo Alto University where he was the founding director of the joint PhD/MBA program (a collaborative effort with the University of San Francisco).
Dr. Baker is a licensed psychologist (PSY 18034) and is board certified through The American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) in Organizational and Business Consulting Psychology. He is a member of the Society of Consulting Psychology, the Society of Industrial Organizational Psychology, the American Psychological Association, and the California Psychological Association.
